Recently when we were in the position of needing to search for a new home to move to we made our needs known to Rob Ashton who up until that point was only known to us as a name on a report sent to us, that was compiled by him monthly showing property sales in and around Auckland. I recently gave sole selling rights of my residence in Burwood Crescent, Remuera, Auckland to Robert Ashton, real estate salesman of Bayleys Real Estate Ltd, structural engineer and publisher of the Rob Report, an authoritative guide to sales in the Eastern Suburbs of Auckland. I never had any cause to regret this decision.
My house is very attractive in an excellent area but the market proved to be suspicious of an upper story clad in plaster on timber framing. Rob’s professional qualification as a structural engineer proved invaluable in calming fears about what in fact is a completely weathertight structure and he was able to present several offers (all too low for me). Rob was very patient and attentive to a large number of callers and constantly sought to obtain the best available offer for me.
I went overseas for an extended period but on my return continued the agreement with Rob. Again he acted with patience and good manners with a large number of interested parties and gave me confidence he would find the right buyer. My confidence was justified. He conducted a skilful negotiation and presented an unconditional offer which I happily accepted.
I have actually known Rob for some years in a fitness club setting and have no hesitation in recommending him as a real estate sales agent. He is absolutely honest, skilled in many aspects of real estate selling and technical construction and very pleasant and polite to everyone

Robert Ashton is well qualified and was recommended to us as an agent to sell our property by our bank manager. We had built a new house in Mission Bay and unfortunately this had coincided with a down turn in the Auckland property market. We found his approach refreshing and his understanding of difficulties excellent. We had previously spent a small fortune on staging, marketing and auctioning with no success. Rob recommended an affordable promotion for sale program and steadily worked for a sale, together with his associate, for a prolonged period on a very flat market. Several offers were forthcoming immediately and although unacceptable to us we were not pressured and eventually an acceptable offer was negotiated.
Rob obviously has a large client base and is skilled at converting enquiries into viewings by prospective purchasers. He has a very ‘laid back’ style and in our view selling and buying property is highly stressful and his calm professionalism definitely eases tension.
